Hello. My name is Sophie.
I’m a collaborative performance maker.
For me, performance is a tool for articulation. A language built over time. I’m interested in building structures in which unpredictable and surprising moments spring from, through movement or imagination.
I’m searching for patterns. The ones that already exist and the ones that are made up. Especially the ones we don’t normally notice.
I want to create a space to pay attention and figure out how we can look at our movements and behaviour through a microscope. Or from another angle than usual. I want to allow people to stop for a moment and travel away in their heads.
I make performance, facilitate and also perform in other people’s projects. I graduated from Performance Arts at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2013, and have since worked with Karen Christopher/ Haranczak/Navarre Performance Projects, ROOM, KIT Theatre, Coney, Rajni Shah, Ellie Stamp, Adam James and others. I'm based in Copenhagen and I'm part of the collective FUKK, and I'm assisting Henrik Vestergaard and Ellen Friis at liveart.dk.
